Anssi Tikanmäki was one of the most significant band, theatre, and film composers of our time. Following his passing in 2024, his musical legacy and orchestra are now carried forward by his sons, Eljas and Eemil Tikanmäki. The Anssi Tikanmäki In Memoriam: Maisemakuvia Suomesta (Landscape Images from Finland) concerts will bring Anssi’s compositions back to life in concert halls during November–December 2025.
The concert repertoire includes the complete material from Landscape Images from Finland, Tikanmäki’s legendary and best-selling instrumental concept album in Finnish history. The audience will hear pieces such as Lapland Fells, Morning on the Plains, and Kiutaköngäs. The program also features works familiar from Aki and Mika Kaurismäki’s films, including Tikanmäki’s adaptation of Finlandia for the film The Worthless. The musical experience is further enriched by powerful visual video projections.
Throughout his career, Anssi Tikanmäki composed music for productions such as the musical Here Beneath the North Star, and for Kaurismäki films The Worthless, Juha, The Clan, and Master Cheng, as well as Juice, directed by Teppo Airaksinen. He also arranged music for Juice Leskinen Grand Slam and Yö.
Expect an emotional and unforgettable evening as Anssi Tikanmäki’s most important compositions are performed live by a talented five-member orchestra in Finland’s most prestigious concert venues.
