Kodo will arrive in March 2026 for its first tour in Finland. This Japanese drum spectacle will be seen at Tampere Hall on Sunday 22nd March 2026.

Kodo is the world’s most famous taiko drum group, and its story began in 1981 on the Japanese island of Sado. The renowned ensemble has introduced centuries-old taiko drumming music to audiences around the world and has performed over 6,500 times across five different continents over the years.

LUMINANCE is Kodo’s latest production. It embodies the transcendent sense of community that Kodo has embraced during its world tours as a promoter of taiko aesthetics. With nearly half a century of touring experience, this new production brings the soul and mission of Kodo to the forefront in the present moment.

The program to be seen in Finland this March has been honed on stages worldwide. It will feature Kodo’s popular and traditional works such as O-daiko and Yatai-bayashi, as well as the audience favorite Monochrome, a taiko masterpiece composed by Maki Ishii. In addition to these classics, the program will include new compositions by Kodo’s current performers, breathing new life into the nostalgic repertoire and taking the ensemble forward with fresh and creative pieces.

The performance lasts approximately 2 hours, including an intermission.
