Virtuoso bassist legend Marcus Miller to perform at Tampere Hall.

One of the world’s most renowned bassists, Marcus Miller, will perform at Tampere Hall in October. Born in 1959, the American bass legend has collaborated with numerous top names in the jazz world. Miller is not only a virtuoso bassist but also a songwriter and record producer.

Throughout his over 30-year career, Miller has won two Grammy Awards, the Victoire du Jazz award and the Edison Award for his lifetime achievement, among others. He has also been appointed as an UNESCO Peace Ambassador.

Miller’s distinctive bass sound can be heard on numerous hit songs by various artists, such as Bill Withers’ Just The Two of Us, Luther Vandross’ Never Too Much, and many tracks by Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Elton John, and Bryan Ferry.

Marcus Miller is considered one of the most significant jazz, R&B, fusion, and soul bassists of our time. Bass Player Magazine includes him among the ten most influential jazz musicians of our generation.
