A beloved show by audiences since 2013! The musical comedy Four Small Dishes includes a dinner for one and three other hilarious experiences.
Martti Suosalo transforms into roles ranging from maître d’ to music copyist, and Iiro Rantala plays everything from piano teacher to heroic soloist. Lotta Kuusisto takes care of the procedures. This fan-favorite show has played to full houses in Finland and across Europe.
The performance consists of four uproarious sketches, featuring Suosalo’s flexible character Arvo Savela, an actor’s alter ego — a stern Finnish everyman who is definitely not one for speeches. Another dish is enjoyed at the grand piano, where the audience joins Iiro’s piano school. This fast-paced, humor-laced lesson delves into the secrets of piano playing and the history of the grand piano.
Dinner for One is a New Year’s TV classic from 1963. The sketch, which has cult status in Finland, follows elderly Miss Sophie celebrating her birthday with the help of her increasingly intoxicated maître d’. The musical comedy is familiar from Tampere Hall, where it has delighted audiences before.
