A Celebrated Comeback – One More Time by Popular Demand!

Due to overwhelming demand, Pepe Willberg and the band Saimaa return once again to perform their acclaimed Pepe & Saimaa album. The concert will take place in the Main Auditorium of Tampere Hall, featuring the original large-scale ensemble: Pepe, Saimaa, the Vantaa Pops Orchestra, and the Vaskivuori High School Alumni Choir.

A Modern Classic of Finnish Music

Pepe & Saimaa is considered a landmark in Finnish music of the 21st century. The album’s first single, Lyhyenä hetkenä, was released in 2011, but the full album—produced by Matti Mikkola—was only released in May 2014. Upon its release, it debuted at #1 on the Finnish album chart and went on to achieve gold status. Songs like Tällä kadulla and Aivan sama mulle mä oon onnellinen have become beloved evergreen hits.

A Rare Live Experience

Live performances of Pepe & Saimaa have been few and far between. In 2014, the ensemble performed only twice: at Ruisrock and at the Huvila tent of Helsinki Festival. The beloved lineup returned to the stage in summer 2023, performing at Pori Jazz and once again selling out the Huvila tent. The album’s 10th anniversary was celebrated at a sold-out Helsinki Music Centre concert in February 2024.

The album was a critical darling, voted Album of the Year by Soundi magazine, Radio Helsinki, and Helsingin Sanomat’s Ilkka Mattila. It won Rock Album of the Year and Critics’ Choice at the Emma Gala, where Willberg was named Male Soloist of the Year and Mikkola Producer of the Year.
